Special Council Meeting – June 23, 2026

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

At this meeting, Council will proceed in closed session in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O., c.25 in order to address matters related to the following:

• Personal matters about identifiable individual(s), including municipal or local board employees - Section 239(2)(b) and labour relations or employee negotiations - Section 239(2)(d) - (Staff Compensation Review);
• a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board - Section 239(2)(c) - (Potential Acquisition of Land);
• a position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the municipality or local board - Section 239(k) - (Ongoing Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) Negotiations - Municipal Property Remediation).

The meeting will commence in open session and will be livestreamed on YouTube. Council will then move into a closed session to discuss confidential matters, which will not be open to the public or livestreamed. Once Council rises from closed session, the meeting will return to open session and the livestream will resume, allowing members of the public to view the remainder of the meeting.
