Residents are advised that there will be no administrative staff services or transit services on Monday, May 24, 2021 for the Victoria Day holiday. Services will resume on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at their usual operating hours.

As the weekend approaches, residents are reminded of the regulations for the sale and use of fireworks, per By-law 102-2008. Residents are reminded that physical distancing measures remain in effect, and individuals must continue to comply with the Provincial guidelines to stay a distance of two metres apart. Additionally, residents must not gather in any public space. A ban on group gatherings of more than five people is still in effect, by Provincial Order.

Additionally, a reminder that open-air burning is prohibited in the urban area, which includes outdoor wood burning chimneys, screened fire bowls or containers, fire pits and barrels. Urban residents are permitted to use natural gas or propane outdoor appliances, provided they are listed for use in Canada and are installed following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Burn permits are required, with specific conditions, in the rural area of the Municipality, for any controlled burning. Burn permits can be issued for property owners in the rural area by contacting the Fire Administration Office at 905-753-2230.
