Road closuresResidents are advised of the following road closures on Saturday, April 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to accommodate the annual race.

Residents are advised of the following impacts to services due to the upcoming Easter Holiday.
Administrative building closures:Municipal administrative buildings are closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026.
For urgent services related to water or roads, call 905-885-2431 and press * to reach our after-hours emergency line.
Transit service impacts:Municipal Transit service will run on a modified schedule for the holiday weekend.

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

Tender Open and Preemptive Work Beginning for Toronto Road/Victoria Street South Project

The tender process is now open for the watermain upsizing along Toronto Road and reconstruction of Victoria Street South. The tender closes on April 9, 2026, with construction set to begin in spring 2026 and major work expected to be completed by November 2026. Once a contractor is in place, more details and timelines will be communicated to the public. In the meantime, residents can expect to see prep work and surveying being completed in the area.

With great sadness, the Municipality of Port Hope acknowledges the passing of former Councillor John Bickle who died on Monday, March 9, 2026.
A life-time resident of rural Port Hope, Mr. Bickle was a passionate advocate for agriculture and rural life.
