The Invitation to Tender is now live for Phase 2 of the Walton Street Reconstruction Project. This bid opportunity closes on September 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. All active construction work for Phase 2 of the project is planned to be completed in 2024.

The annual Port Hope Fair is back from September 14 to 17, 2023. Residents are reminded of the following impacts:
Parking restrictionsTo alleviate traffic congestion and ensure any needed emergency vehicles can access the fair grounds, there will be no parking from September 14 at 8:00 a.m. to September 17 at 5:00 p.m. on the following streets:

Heat Warning

Residents are advised that Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the area.
A heat warning is issued when the daytime temperature is forecast to be 31°C or higher, with a minimum daytime low of 20°C or higher, for two consecutive days. A heat warning can also be issued when the humidex is forecast to be 40°C or higher for two consecutive days.

Labour Day Holiday Closures

A reminder to residents that municipal administrative buildings will be closed and transit service unavailable on Monday, September 4, 2023 for the Labour Day holiday. Municipal recreation facilities will also be closed for the holiday (The Jack Burger Sports Complex will open its doors at 1:00 p.m. to host the Peterborough Petes exhibition game)
The Port Hope Public Library branches and the Hope Transfer Station are also closed on Monday, September 4.
