Heat Warning

Residents are advised that Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the area.
A heat warning is issued when the daytime temperature is forecast to be 31°C or higher, with a minimum daytime low of 20°C or higher, for two consecutive days. A heat warning can also be issued when the humidex is forecast to be 40°C or higher for two consecutive days.

Labour Day Holiday Closures

A reminder to residents that municipal administrative buildings will be closed and transit service unavailable on Monday, September 4, 2023 for the Labour Day holiday. Municipal recreation facilities will also be closed for the holiday (The Jack Burger Sports Complex will open its doors at 1:00 p.m. to host the Peterborough Petes exhibition game)
The Port Hope Public Library branches and the Hope Transfer Station are also closed on Monday, September 4.

The Municipality of Port Hope Town Park Expansion Project Fundraising Committee is partnering with the Port Hope Panthers to host the Peterborough Petes’ first preseason home game on Monday, September 4, against long-time rival the Oshawa Generals at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.

Special Council Meeting - August 23, 2023

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
At the meeting, Council will proceed into a closed session, in accordance with the Municipal Act, to address a matter regarding a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the Municipality- Section 239(2)(c).
