A reminder that the Port Hope Arts Festival is this Saturday, August 8, throughout Downtown. Residents are advised of the following impacts to accommodate this year’s festival:
Road Closures
- Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the outdoor vendor market.
- Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street, including the Elias laneway) will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to accommodate festival activities and an evening outdoor street concert.
Parking Lot Closures
The parking lot at Town Hall will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the Port Hope Farmers Market and Artisan Market.
Transit Impacts
Transit Services will avoid Augusta Street and Queen Street when travelling to the Transit Transfer Hub. The Hub will be moved to the 74 Queen Street parking lot for the day. As a result of these changes, stop A36 will not be in service on August 8.
Parking
- Overflow parking will be available at 74 Queen Street and at 95 Mill Street South.
- Consider taking public transit or carpooling with a friend to get downtown.
Reminder: Many Downtown shops and businesses are open during the festival! Don't forget to check out our unique local shops and eateries.
