Celebrate Canada Day in Port Hope: Full Schedule of Festivities Announced
For Immediate Release
Wednesday, June 10, 2026 - Port Hope, ON
The Municipality of Port Hope is gearing up for its annual Canada Day celebrations, bringing together a vibrant mix of new experiences and cherished traditions across the community. This year’s lineup once again offers a wide range of activities and events designed for all ages to enjoy.
“Each year on July 1, Canada Day offers a meaningful opportunity for our community to come together to connect, celebrate and reflect,” notes Mayor Olena Hankivsky. “We also recognize that this day holds different meanings for many, including Indigenous Peoples, for whom it is a time to honour truth and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation. As we gather in our downtown, let us acknowledge the full history of this land, commit to learning from it, and move forward in a spirit of respect, understanding, and inclusion.”
With the completion of the Walton Street Reconstruction, this year’s parade returns to its traditional route down Walton Street. There will be a modified start and staging area due to the Victoria Street Reconstruction Project. The parade kicks off at the corner of Julia and Ridout at 11:00 a.m. The Parade will travel down Walton Street turning onto Queen Street to finish at Town Hall. There are lots of viewing locations along the entire route so bring your friends and family, spread out and enjoy the festivities.
