Extreme Weather Conditions
Lakelands Public Health has issued a Cold Warning for the County of Haliburton, the City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County and the City and County of Peterborough effective Saturday, January 24 to Sunday, January 25, as Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts low temperatures combined with significant wind chill values. Temperatures are expected to drop to -20°C, with wind chill reaching as low as -30 to-35, creating conditions that significantly increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia.
