Power Outage Update
Localized areas of the Municipality of Port Hope remain without power after the recent heavy winter snow. The following information provides updates and resources for those who are still without power.
Jack Burger Sports Complex remains open during regular operating hours for use of the shower and restroom facilities.
The Port Hope Public Library Mary J. Benson branch (31 Queen Street) is a great option to charge your phone or use the Wi-Fi as required. In times of power outages many local businesses will also allow you to charge your phone or devices if needed.
Roads crews continue to provide winter maintenance and all emergency services have continued without interruption. As always, if you are in a life-threatening situation, call 911.
Do not use your oven or propane and other fuel-fired portable heaters to heat your home. If you are without heat and operating a generator, only use approved heating devices in the manner they are intended to be used.
Electricity outage information is being updated by Hydro One as restorations continue. Hydro One provides a live Storm Centre Outage Map which identifies outage areas and estimated restoration timelines. To contact Hydro One by phone, call 1-800-434-1235.
A reminder to always be prepared for an emergency, which should include a plan and sufficient supplies to last for a minimum of 72 hours.
