Proposed Removal of Holding Provisions – East Side of County Road 10
Council will be considering removing special “holding” restrictions (H4 and H5) from a vacant property located on the east side of County Road 10 (between Wright Road and Forest Crescent). These holding provisions were put in place to prevent development until required environmental studies and site planning requirements were completed, due to the property’s location within the Oak Ridges Moraine.
An application for Site Plan Approval (#SP03-2026) has been submitted by the property owner, along with the required environmental studies, which have been reviewed and found acceptable by the Municipality and the appropriate Conservation Authority. As these requirements are expected to be finalized shortly, Council will consider a By-law to lift the holding provisions at a future meeting. If approved, this would permit the development of one single-family home and a detached garage on the property.
The application is exempt from public notification under the Planning Act. However, any member of the public who wishes to provide comments on the proposed removal of the H4 and H5 holding provisions may submit them to the Clerk by email. Additional information about the proposed By-law is available for public review at the Municipal Development Team Office at 5 Mill Street South, Port Hope, during regular business hours.
