Statutory Public Meeting – December 8, 2026
1516 Wesleyville Road
An application to amend the Zoning By-law has been received for lands municipally known as 1516 Wesleyville Road within the Rural Area of the Municipality of Port Hope. The application was submitted by D.G. Biddle & Associates Limited on behalf of the owner Voyageur Services Limited and is now considered complete under the Planning Act.
A Public Meeting will be held to consider this application (File: ZB04-2026) on December 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (56 Queen Street, Port Hope). The meeting is open to everyone and will also be live streamed on the Municipality's YouTube channel for those who wish to observe the proceedings.
What is being proposed?
The applicant is proposing to establish a temporary works yard and storage area on a portion of the property for a period of three years. To facilitate this use, a Zoning By-law Amendment is requested to rezone the affected lands from General Employment Holding One Provision 'EMP1(H1)’ to General Employment Temporary Use 8 'EMP1(T8)’.
A future Site Plan Approval application will also be submitted to permit the proposed development.
5351 6th Line
An application to amend the Zoning By-law has been received for the northern parcel of 5351 6th Line within the Rural Area of the Municipality of Port Hope. The application was submitted by JKO Planning Services Inc. on behalf of Sandra Lunney-McDonald and Chelsea Lunney-McDonald and is now considered complete under the Planning Act.
A Public Meeting will be held to consider this application (File: ZB05-2026) on December 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (56 Queen Street, Port Hope). The meeting is open to everyone and will also be live streamed on the Municipality’s YouTube channel for those who wish to observe the proceedings.
What is being proposed?
The lands associated with the municipal address 5351 6th Line consist of two separate parcels that are separated by a Hydro-owned corridor. The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment applies only to the northern parcel, and no zoning changes are proposed for the southern parcel.
The purpose of the application is to recognize the existing condition of the property, which currently contains two dwelling units: a single detached dwelling and a newly constructed Additional Residential Unit (ARU) located within an accessory building that is also partially used for agricultural storage.
To permit this use, the applicant is requesting that the northern parcel be rezoned from Rural 'RU' to a Site-Specific Rural 'RU(161)’ zone. The application also proposes site-specific zoning provisions related to the ARU, including relief from standards regarding floor area, building height, and the separation distance between the ARU and the existing principal dwelling.
