Annual Roads Resurfacing Program Begins

Residents are advised that our annual roads resurfacing program begins this week. This annual capital project protects our road infrastructure and addresses any paving issues in both the urban and rural areas. Each municipal road is rated as good, fair, poor, or very poor based on the quality of the road surface. The road paving schedule is prioritized based on this rating system.
Work is set to begin on May 13 (weather dependent) to October 1, 2024, on the following roads:

Demolition work on Block 2 of the File Factory, located at 121 Cavan Street, has commenced. For public safety, the portion of Cavan Street adjacent to the property will remain closed while the work is ongoing.
This project aligns with Council's March 2024 decision to approve a heritage permit for the demolition of Block 2 of the File Factory, as this section of the building was found to be structurally unsafe.

Traffic Lane Reduction on Robertson Street

Please be advised that on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7, Robertson Street - west of the Queen Street intersection - will be reduced to one lane of traffic. This adjustment will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days. The scheduling of daily work takes into account peak traffic periods in the area to minimize congestion as much as possible.
