Happy New Year, Port Hope! The winter storm leading into Christmas altered holiday plans for many of you, but I hope that you were able to enjoy time with family and friends. I had the great pleasure of meeting and chatting with residents when I made some surprise visits to thank them for making Port Hope sparkle.

Town Hall Elevator Out of Service

Update 1/6/2023: The elevator at Town Hall has been fixes and is now in service. Thank you for your patience.
Residents are advised that the elevator at Town Hall is currently out of order. Staff are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
If you require an accessible entrance to Town Hall during this interruption, please contact us at 905-885-4544 and staff will make accommodations.

Special Council Meeting - January 10, 2023

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Special Council Meeting on January 10, 2023 has been cancelled. This Special Council meeting will be rescheduled, and the new date will be publicized accordingly.
Residents are advised that a Special Council Meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall as part of the ongoing Council Orientation.

2023 Budget Information Timelines

In previous years, the Municipality has held budget meetings and passed the upcoming year’s budget in December. This year, due to the timing of the municipal election, budget meetings will begin in January 2023. Passing the budget in the New Year is a requirement of the Municipal Act, after an election period.
Staff continue to prepare the 2023 operating and capital budgets and will share the draft documents publicly on our website in January.
