It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Jerry Siebarth, Transit Coordinator for the Municipality of Port Hope.
Jerry joined the Municipality in 2018 during the transition of our transit service from a contracted model to a municipal service. In his role, he provided leadership and support to transit employees, operations, and municipal crossing guards. Transit Outage - September 26, 2025

Please be advised that Transit Routes A, B, and C are currently out of service until 5:30 p.m. today due to a mechanical failure of another transit vehicle.
- Routes A and B will resume service temporarily from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m., these routes will be back out of service for the remainder of the evening.

Closure Notice: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Municipality of Port Hope will be observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.
The following buildings and services will be closed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025:
- Town Hall
- Fire Administration Office
- Development Team Office
- Water Treatment Plant
- Wastewater Treatment Plant
- Joint Operation Centre
- Rural Works Yard
- Port Hope Public Library

Temporary Transit Service Outage - Cobourg Shuttle

Update 10/2/25: Regular transit service on the Express Cobourg Shuttle has resumed. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this outage.
Update 9/23/25: An update has been received regarding the mechanical issue with the Cobourg Shuttle. Repairs will not be completed by end-of-day today. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Temporary Transit Changes for Two-Week Walton Street Closure

With the upcoming two-week closure of Walton Street from September 22 to October 4, Transit Services will be implementing route changes beginning Monday, September 22.
To ensure continued transit service, we have arranged for modified transit routes during this period. Please take note of the following changes:
Route A:- Depart Town Hall and proceed north on Mill Street South to Barrett Street
- Turn south on Cavan Street, to South Street
- North on Pine to Bruton Street
