Suction Dredging in Outer Harbour

Residents are advised that the Municipality of Port Hope is conducting a suction dredge of the Port Hope outer harbour. The dredging begins on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
The Municipality and Cameco Corporation have been working collaboratively to resolve issues related to Cameco’s cooling water intake, located along the west harbour wall, which has been impacted by sedimentation deposits. Cameco’s Conversion Facility continues to operate safely.

On Friday, November 20, 2020, the Municipality of Port Hope received a letter of appeal to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) regarding the Penryn Mason Homes Phase 5 Subdivision (also called “Phase 5-Lakeside Village Community”). The appeal has been requested by the property owners (AON Inc., 2107401 Ontario Inc., Penryn Park Estates Inc., and Penryn Mason Homes Inc.).

New Stops for Bus Route A

Residents are advised that there has been a change to Transit 'Route A' to trial transit-user needs in the Mason Homes subdivision.
The bus on 'Route A' now travels westbound on Lakeshore Road, south on Strachan Street, to Victoria Street South, then northbound, connecting to the existing route on Toronto Road.

Early Morning Work in the Downtown Area

Residents are advised that Municipal staff will be operating in the downtown area removing the sidewalk patio extensions during the early morning hours of Thursday, November 26 or Friday, November 27 dependent on acceptable weather conditions.
The work will begin no earlier than 5:00 am and is required in order to accommodate full access while vehicles are off of the road, traffic is light, and the equipment can move freely throughout the area.
