Emergency Alert System Testing

Residents are advised that on November 24, 2021, Fire and Emergency Services will be testing its emergency alert system as part of an annual training exercise. During this test you may receive a phone message advising of the test. No actions are required from the public or local businesses. New Plaques on Athletic Wall of Honour Unveiled

In a small ceremony on November 18, 2021, the Municipality of Port Hope, in partnership with the PRC Advisory Committee unveiled the new honourees to the Athletic Wall of Honour. The Athletic Wall of Honour, located at the Jack Burger Sports Complex, is a community-driven initiative that celebrates the achievements of local athletes by preserving the stories and histories of sport in Port Hope.

Santa Claus Parade Road Closure and Parking Restrictions

The traditional Santa Claus Parade is returning to Port Hope on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with COVID-19 protocols in effect.

Road closures

Residents are advised of the following road closures from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 to accommodate the annual Santa Claus Parade.

• Ridout Street and Walton Street from Toronto Road to Mill Street
• Queen street from Walton Street to Robertson Street
• Augusta Street from Queen Street to Elias Street

Winter Recreation – Session 1A

Registration for Session 1A of our winter recreation programs is underway until November 24, 2021. You can register online, over the phone or in person for swimming lessons, fitness classes, children’s programs and more. For detailed registration information, visit our registration page.
