Council Meeting Time Change

Residents are advised that Regular Council meetings will be held at their usual time of 6:30 p.m., beginning on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. The Committee of the Whole meeting will follow the Council meeting.

The meetings will continue to be held electronically, via video conference. To view or participate in the Council or Committee of the Whole meetings, please follow the link or phone-in directions provided on the Council agenda.

Extended Heat Warning - July 2

Residents are advised that the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit has issued an extended heat warning for Northumberland County. Environment Canada is forecasting hot, humid weather to continue until July 6, 2020.

A Heat Warning is issued when the day-time temperature is forecast to be 31°C or higher, with a minimum day-time low of 20°C or higher, for two consecutive days. A heat warning can also be issued when the humidex is forecast to be 40°C or higher for two consecutive...

Temporary Closure of Beaches

Residents are advised that the West Beach, East Beach, and the Caldwell Street Beach access point will be temporarily closed, beginning on Friday, July 3 at 7 a.m. until Monday, July 6 at 10 a.m.

Pursuant to By-Law 54/2017, the Director and/or Chief of Police and/or Director of Fire and Emergency Services and/or By-Law Enforcement Officers are authorized to close off for such temporary period as deemed appropriate any Park, Recreation Area or part of parts thereof to relieve or prevent overcrowding...

Special Council Meeting July 6 2020

Residents are advised that a Special Council meeting will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., via web conference, to proceed In Camera (closed session) in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O., c.25 in order to address a matter pertaining to labour relations or employee negotiations - Section 239 (2)(d).

Council members will be participating in the interview process for the Chief Administrative Officer position that will be closed to the members of the public.
