Transit Service Disruption

UPDATE: 1/27 at 10:50 a.m.: Bus service will resume at 11:00 a.m. as visibility has improved. However, riders should expect delays due to the weather conditions.
Transit service has been temporarily suspended on Tuesday, January 27 due to weather conditions, to support proper road and bus stop clearing operations, and maintain public safety. We will reassess the situation at 11:00 a.m. and provide updates.

Snow plowing and winter maintenance efforts continue across the Municipality of Port Hope, with staff from Roads, Facilities, Parks, and Cemeteries working diligently to maintain safe conditions for residents and visitors.
As a result of these efforts, the Jack Burger Sports Complex and the Town Park Recreation Centre will re-open at 12:00 p.m., and all programming will resume as scheduled.
The Port Hope Public Library will re-open at 1:00 p.m.

Recreation Program Registration Postponed

Due to the significant winter storm impacting our area, all municipal public facilities will remain closed until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026. Weather conditions will be evaluated at that time. Further updates will be issued if the reopening schedule changes.
As a result, Recreation Program Registration will be postponed by one day:

The Municipality of Port Hope has declared a Significant Weather Event due to heavy snowfall, as defined within the Minimum Maintenance Standards Regulation Ont 239/02. Conditions are expected to last into Monday with heavy snowfall making for dangerous conditions on roads and sidewalks.

The Municipality is providing an update on the ongoing file for 65 Ward Street.
On January 13, the parties representing Southbridge Care Homes and the Municipality attended a mediation assessment session, in an effort to assess the issues relating to the appeal.
